I decided to start a blog because I love design, art, food, travel, my family, my friends. I enjoy decorating and I am also passionate about lighting and will from time to time design a new light and list it in my shop. I love sharing and love participating in worthy causes.
Where are we headed?
In 2011 I worked on designing a complete remodel of my home and realized how very much I enjoyed the process including the good, the bad and the ugly. I learned a lot. I learned there are things that you want to purchase that are pricey but will last and where to cut corners. I would like to share this information with you here from time to time. I invite you to share. In hunting for lighting for my project I also realized that there were specific lights that I wanted that were not affordable for my budget and so starting sketching the lights I had envisioned and thinking up ways to fulfill my desire. I found that designing lights thrilled me.
I am not as my children say, a pure-blood (Harry Potter term). I am born of a Dominican mother and an Irish-American father. Because of my close ties to Dominican Republic as a child, I was exposed to poverty on a level that imprinted in my heart that I would always do good and give. Here at Overzealous Design I will share “causes” with you. Information whereby we can make this world a better place. A world where we can give beauty, art, design, clothes, money, joy and love to those who’d otherwise not be able to reach that. Overzealous in every aspect of life and that is how I feel we should all live.
Where are we headed? Who knows?
